    About the Course

    The SGUS Programme in Business Practice - Hospitality and Tourism Management is designed to develop and groom you for such positions within the various related sectors. It also develops you into a versatile individual who can handle the cross-cultural demands of this dynamic sector. The diploma will open doors to exciting career opportunities around the world, grooming you to be a future leader in the vibrant tourism industry. You will be equipped with the requisite skills, relevant knowledge and specialised training to succeed in this growing sector, which includes Hotel, Resort, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions & Exhibitions) businesses.

  • Target Participants

    The programme is suitable for:

    • Executive and management support staff handling hospitality and tourism operations
    • Supervisors working in hospitality and tourism sector who wish to obtain the “breadth” in business operations so as to enhance their employability and capabilities within the organisation.

  • Admission Requirements

    Applicants with any of the following qualifications are invited to apply for the course:

    •Minimum of 3 GCE “O” level credits, including English & Mathematics and at least 3 years of relevant working experience;
    •NITEC with GPA ≥ 3.5 and a minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience;
    •Higher NITEC and a minimum of 1 year of relevant working experience;
    •NITEC In Technology / Services with GPA ≥ 3.5 and a minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience
    •Higher NITEC In Technology /Services and a minimum of 1 year of relevant working experience
    •Relevant WSQ Diploma qualification or equivalents, a minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience and Workplace Literary & Numeracy (WPLN) at level ≥ 6

    Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
    Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on:

    • Evidence of at least 5 years of relevant working experience; OR
    • Supporting evidence of competency readiness.

    Suitable applicants who are shortlisted may be invited for an/a interview and/or proficiency test.  The Polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist and admit applicants.

  • Course schedule (conducting days & time)

    Course duration is from 30 Nov 2020 to 29 May 2021 and classes are conducted on Mondays & Wednesdays (Full day).

  • Course Fees and Funding

    Nett Course Fee payable for Singaporeans & Permanent Residents (incl GST): $500.00.

     

    Applicants may use SkillsFuture Credit to offset the Nett Course Fee.
