    About the Course

    The SGUS Programme in Business Practice - Accounting is designed to train adult participants in meeting the rising complexity of accounting requirements and support the Skills Framework for the accountancy sector to develop talent with the necessary skillsets for the industry. Articulation pathways are already in place to professional qualifications such as ACCA and ICAEW and the Advanced Diploma in Accountancy which is currently the only non-graduate pathway into Singapore Chartered Accountant qualification.

  • Target Participants

    The programme is suitable for:

    • Executive and management support staff handling accounting and administrative support functions in any industry, and who do not have a formal diploma qualification but want to enhance their employability, capabilities and market value to move up to the next level of their career path.

  • Admission Requirements

    Applicants with any of the following qualifications are invited to apply for the course:
    •Minimum of 3 GCE “O” level credits, including English & Mathematics and at least 3 years of relevant working experience;
    •NITEC with GPA ≥ 3.5 and a minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience;
    •Higher NITEC and a minimum of 1 year of relevant working experience;
    •NITEC In Technology / Services with GPA ≥ 3.5 and a minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience
    •Higher NITEC In Technology /Services and a minimum of 1 year of relevant working experience
    •Relevant WSQ Diploma qualification or equivalents, a minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience and Workplace Literary & Numeracy (WPLN) at level ≥ 6

    Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

    Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on:

    Evidence of at least 5 years of relevant working experience; OR
    Supporting evidence of competency readiness.
    Suitable applicants who are shortlisted may be invited for an/a interview and/or proficiency test.  The Polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist and admit applicants.

  • Course schedule (conducting days & time)

    Course duration is from 19 Oct 2020 to 18 Apr 2021 and classes are conducted on Mondays & Wednesdays (Full day).

  • Course Fees and Funding

    Nett Course Fee payable for Singaporeans & Permanent Residents (incl GST): $500.00 

    Applicants may use SkillsFuture Credit to offset the Nett Course Fee.
