About the Course

As part of the SkillsFuture initiative, the Specialist Diploma in Digital Media Production (DMP) aims to deepen the scope of a polytechnic media graduate to undertake work across the spectrum of Motion Graphics, Visual Effects, Animation, and Digital Media Production fields. The participants will: Acquire a deeper knowledge of the concepts and techniques needed for developing Animation, Motion Graphics and Visual Effects Be equipped with a comprehensive overview of Digital Media Production pipelines Develop skills in Animation, Motion Graphics and Visual effects, as well as have the opportunity for cross disciplinary development Apply the acquired knowledge to their respective job functions, and deepen their skills and competencies?which are required for them to perform at a higher level This course is designed in collaboration with the industry to ensure relevance to employers and market needs. DMP is aligned with the SkillsFuture Work-Study Programme, WSP (Formerly known as SkillsFuture?Earn and Learn Programme) to enable participants to undergo structured on-the-job training and mentorship. The 12-month work-study programme is targeted at polytechnic graduates from Animation, Motion Graphics, Visual Effects and other related media courses
  • Admission Requirements

    Applicants should have a related qualification (minimum Polytechnic Diploma) in one of these areas ? animation, motion graphics, visual effects, media production, film, art or design. Applicants with working experience in the areas of relevance as mentioned above are preferred. Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on: (i) Evidence of at least 5 years of relevant working experience; OR (ii) Supporting evidence of competency readiness. Suitable applicants who are shortlisted will have to go through an interview and/or entrance test. The Polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist and admit applicants. Specialist Diploma in Digital Media Production (DMP) is also aligned with WSP. For WSP, applicants have to meet the following requirements: (i) Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident (ii) Polytechnic graduates who graduated within 3 years from a relevant Polytechnic Diploma in one of these areas ? Animation, Motion Graphics, Visual Effects, Media Production, Film, Art or Design. Graduates who graduated more than 3 years but less than 5 years are considered on a case by case basis. For?learners who need to serve National Service (NS), the 3-years period will start from their Operationally-ready Date (ORD)
  • Course schedule (conducting days & time)

    Course commencement:?1 Oct 2021 (Ends on?20 Oct 2021) Classes are held bi-monthly on alternate Wed, 9 am to?5 pm,?starting from 1 Oct 2021. The course will be conducted in blended mode (Home-based Learning and Face-to-face on campus)

    Full Time Diploma Graduates from the Class of 2021 and 2020 and graduates who complete their National Service in year 2021 and 2020 can sign up for one free Specialist Diploma course offered by NYP
