About the Course

The Specialist Diploma in User Experience Design & Management aims to deepen learners knowledge and skills to undertake work in the areas of Design, Digital Media, Information Technology, User Experience and relevant industries. The course will: Provide learners with a deeper understanding of the concepts and techniques needed for designing user experience solutions for the digital media industry; provide learners with an understanding of ethnographic research, co-creation and user experience processes; Develop skills in design, coding and user experience development as well as the opportunity for cross disciplinary development; Enable learners to apply the knowledge learnt to their respective job function as well as to deepen their skills and knowledge that will equip them to perform at a higher level This course is designed in collaboration with the industry to ensure relevance to employers. The Specialist Diploma also aligns with SkillsFuture Work-Study Programme, WSP, (Formerly known as SkillsFuture Earn and Learn Programme, ELP) enables learners to undergo structured on-the-job training and mentorship on top of facilitated classroom learning. The 12-month work-study programme is targeted at polytechnic graduates from Design, Digital Media, User Experience, IT and related media courses. It gives fresh graduates a head-start in careers related to their discipline of study and provides existing employees with an opportunity to deepen their knowledge and skills to enhance their career progression and promote lifelong learning. We offer the course to both WSP eligible and Public learners.

  • Admission Requirements

    Applicants should have a related qualification (minimum Polytechnic Diploma) in one of the areas ?design, media, user experience or information technology. Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on: (i) Evidence of at least 5 years of relevant working experience; OR (ii) Supporting evidence of competency readiness. Suitable applicants who are shortlisted will have to go through an interview and/or entrance test. The Polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist and admit applicants. Specialist Diploma in User Experience Design & Management (UXDM) is also aligned with Work-Study Programme (WSP).     The course is starting on 10 Jun 2021. Classes are held on a fortnightly basis (every alternate Thursday from 9am to 6 pm)

    Full Time Diploma Graduates from the Class of 2021 and 2020 and graduates who complete their National Service in year 2021 and 2020 can sign up for one free Specialist Diploma course offered by NYP
