About the Course

The SkillsFuture Work-Study Post-Diploma (Specialist Diploma in Precision Engineering) is designed to provide fresh graduates the opportunity to broaden and deepen the skills and knowledge they acquired in polytechnic and further prepare them to meet specific job roles while supporting their transition into the PE workforce. It places an emphasis on project development and management skills, enabling participants to better manage projects as they progress in their careers. This programme is designed in collaboration with the industry to ensure that skillsets are relevant to employers while providing participants a seamless continuation from their discipline of study to applications and contributions to the workplace. Participants will be sponsored by their employers to enhance and deepen their skills under a 12-month structured on-the-job training and mentorship programme that will help them transit and contribute better in their workplace.   Key features of SkillsFuture Work-Study Post-Diploma Fresh polytechnic graduates, or post NS graduates within 36 months of their ORD, enrolled in the programme can benefit from the following: • A sign-on incentives of $5,000 (For Singaporean Citizens only, terms and conditions apply) • Competitive salary and full-time employment benefits • Skills deepening through on-the-job training and facilitated learning • Career advancement pathways upon successful completion of the course
  • Target Participants

    Singaporean/PR Polytechnic Graduates within 36 months of graduation or ORD (For Singaporean males).
  • Certification

    The course duration of the Work-Study Post-Diploma (Specialist Diploma in Precision Engineering) is 300 hours, comprising two Post Diploma Certificates (PDCs) and an on-the-job training component. Participants who meet the assessment and attendance requirements for all the modules under each PDC will be awarded the respective Post-Diploma Certificate. Participants will be awarded the Work-Study Post-Diploma (Specialist Diploma in Precision Engineering) upon successful completion of both PDCs.
  • Admission Requirements

    To be eligible for the programme, the applicant must be a fresh polytechnic graduate (Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident) or post NS graduates within 12 months to 36 months of their ORD, from one of the five polytechnics. He/She has to meet the minimum requirements of the Work-Study Post-Diploma and be employed by a participating company. Fresh polytechnic graduates are defined as individuals who are hired by the participating companies within 12 months to 36 months of their graduation from the polytechnic (graduation date as stated on the Diploma certificate). This group includes existing employees of the participating companies who have graduated from the polytechnic within the same period. For male participants who need to serve National Service, the 12 month period will start from the ORD. Participants who are fresh Singaporean graduates within 12 months to 36 months will be eligible for a sign-on incentive of $5,000 (terms and conditions apply) when they are successfully placed on the Programme. Polytechnic graduates from the following courses or Manufacturing/Mechanical equivalent local polytechnic diploma courses are eligible to apply for the programme:
    •Diploma in Digital & Precision Engineering or Aeronautical & Aerospace Engineering, Nanyang Polytechnic
    •Diploma in Mechatronics Engineering, Nanyang Polytechnic/Temasek Polytechnic
    •Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Singapore Polytechnic/Ngee Ann Polytechnic
    •Diploma in Aerospace Engineering, Republic Polytechnic/Temasek Polytechnic
    •Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering, Singapore Polytechnic
    •Diploma in Aerospace Technology, Ngee Ann Polytechnic

    The Post-Diploma Certificates are:
    •Post-Diploma Certificate in  Advanced CNC Machining Technology
    •Post-Diploma Certificate in Mould Design & Simulation Remarks:
    Class: 3 nights per week: 1830 to 2130

    Full Time Diploma Graduates from the Class of 2020 and graduates who complete their National Service in year 2020 can sign up for one free Specialist Diploma course offered by NYP.
