    About the Course

    The course aims to equip participants with “legal eyes” so as to be better placed to appreciate legal issues in online business and operating on the Internet. It deals with the legal aspects of the commercial exploitation of the internet and examine legal issues arising out of contracting in e-commerce, domain name regime, data protection and privacy rights as well as the protection of intellectual property right. 

    Trainer Profile:

    Tess is a Senior Lecturer lecturing Business Law, Banking Law and Company Law at the School of Business Management, Nanyang Polytechnic. She is also an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore. Tess studied law at National University of Singapore Faculty of Law. She also graduated from Singapore Management University School of Law with a Master of Laws, in which she specialised in cross border business and finance law in Asia. 

    Tess has taught tertiary institutions in and outside Singapore, including China and Austria. She also conducts legal workshops for SMU post-graduate students reading the Master of Laws programme. When she was in practice, she specialized in corporate and banking work and her clients included banks, statutory boards, commercial firms and companies.
